NOTE: Due to CWD regulations in NY, it is illegal to ship or transport the skulls of CWD susceptible animals into the state. Species under such regulations are Whitetail, Blacktail, Sika, Red and Mule deer, also Elk, Caribou, Reindeer and moose.

 

We clean our Euro skull mounts using dermestid beetles (There are several advantages to this method over traditional boiling in that the beetles will clean out every deepest crevice of the inside of the skull ensuring that there is  absolutely no meat or other matter left, all while not damaging  any of the delicate nasal structures or suture lines. also will not potentially weaken the bone as can happen with over-boiling a skull ) 

After the beetles have thoroughly cleaned the skulls they go into a warm water degreasing solution for two weeks or more depending on the species, this is critical to achieving a skull that will stay white over time, excessive grease bleed through will cause yellowing of the bone and also odor.

After the degreasing step we then whiten and sun bleach the skull, taking care not  to get any whitening agents on the antler bases.

​​​​The result of this is a grease free, odor free, completely structurally intact, and pristine white skull that will stay white over time!

You can ship your trophy to us for a euro skull mount, it is important to freeze it solid and ship it at the beginning of the week using next day or two day shipping. We highly recommend packing the bagged, frozen head well with fiberglass insulation batting, and label the outside of the box Frozen/perishable goods.
